Luotsie - Innovative entrepreneurship in South Karelia
Creativity and small entrepreneurship represent a great untapped potential for growth in unstable economic times – also in the South Karelia region. "The Luotsie - Innovative entrepreneurship in South Karelia" -project offers new opportunities in this area by means of experimenting and renewing.
The project brings together students, professionals in the creative industries and potential customers. The aim is to support commercialized services that will work even outside the project. Through experiments, different fields can be brought together, e.g. visual arts, theater, consulting services, technology know-how, design or whatever skills the participants bring with them.
Around various experiments, the project brings together students, professionals in the creative industries and customers from South Karelia region. We organize workshops, communication, training, networking, solutions to problems, new customers ... our working methods can take many forms!
In short, we offer: partners, a close-knit network, new expertise, support, training, visibility, information and assistance.
If you are a student in South Karelia (university of applied sciences, vocational school or university) and you are looking for a thesis topic or an internship with local companies, please contact us and we will see if we can find the right partners for you! Especially in the field of marketing, talent is in short supply. In addition, experts from a number of other sectors are needed. We are constantly seeking new types of expert combinations, so if you have any skills to offer, please contact us!
The project provides a comprehensive network of small entrepreneurs, which offers a wide range of topics for the students' needs. With topics from the business world it is possible to gain a foothold in the local economy, new contacts as well as great assets for your CV.
Participation in the project is completely free to all businesses and organizations and is non-committal. The number of pilot experiments carried out is limited, thus also the number of participants is limited. Students are offered opportunities to get compensation for their work from the companies and through Saimaa University of Applied Sciences (to students of Saimia).
The Luotsie project is carried out in collaboration with Humak University of Applied Sciences Imatra RDI Center (Voima) and Saimaa University of Applied Sciences and is funded by the Regional Council of South Karelia. The project is running from 1.9.2015 to 30.4.2016, but thesis writing and internships can continue even after this.
